The Oklahoma Youth Expo elevated to another level with the annual Sale of Champions shattering record amounts on Friday.
With the conclusion of each Oklahoma Youth Expo comes the Sale of Champions event, a prestigious auction where the top exhibitors are celebrated for their hard work and success in the show ring.
This year, 212 exhibitors secured lots in the Sale of Champions, and a record-breaking $1.5 million was raised from the auction.
“We realize the time, effort and energy the young people pour into their animals, so it’s great to continue increasing the amount of funds raised for them,” said President of the Onward Foundation, Tyler Norvell. “These are the most dedicated kids, and they deserve nothing shy of the best.”
In addition to the unparalleled amount raised at this year’s Sale of Champions, $400,000 was awarded back to exhibitors through academic scholarships.
These financial awards are delivered to the top breeding animal and market animal exhibitors throughout the duration of OYE.
“Nearly $1.9 million awarded back to our exhibitors means they have expanded opportunities to help them in their future endeavors,” Norvell said. “We could not do it without the support from our generous sponsors and donors, so I tip my hat to them in helping make this show and event a success each year.”
The 108th Annual Oklahoma Youth Expo is set to be held March 7 through the 17, 2023 in Oklahoma City. For the latest information regarding OYE, visit okyouthexpo.com
