All wether goats sold are eligible to show in the wether division at 7th Annual Champions’ Tribute Showback at the 2024 Oklahoma Youth Expo. The Grand Champion Market Wether Goat will receive a spot in the 2024 Sale of Champions! Breeder of the Champion will be recognized as the Premier Breeder and will be awarded during the 2024 Oklahoma Youth Expo.
All doe goats sold are eligible to show in the doe goat division at the 7th Annual Champions’ Tribute Showback at the 2024 Oklahoma Youth Expo. The Grand Champion Doe will receive a banner and a cash award.
Open to Oklahoma consignors only.

General Rules
1. All animals entered in the Futurity Showback must have been purchased from the 2022 OYE Futurity Sale and have the OYE issued Futurity Sale tag. If the animal no longer has the Futurity Sale tag it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to contact the showback superintendent so the proper tag can be reissued.
2. Cattle without an OYE Futurity Sale tag will not be permitted to compete in the Futurity Showback.
3. Cattle purchased as an “alley trade” will not be permitted to compete in the Futurity Showback.
4. Futurity Showback cattle must be exhibited by an Oklahoma 4-H or FFA member who has had ownership of the animal since November 9, 2023.
5. Futurity Showback steers must be nominated via the mail-in, self-nomination process. The nomination deadline for steers is November 9, 2023. Please visit the OYE website www.okyouthexpo.com for further instructions.
6. Futurity Showback exhibitors must enter their steer(s) and heifer(s) online by February 23, 2024. Late entries will be assessed additional fees and will be accepted through March 1, 2024. Please visit the OYE website www.okyouthexpo.com for further instructions.
7. There is no additional entry fee required to compete in the Futurity Showback, however the animal(s) must have been included in the online entry process thus paying the $40 entry fee. All Futurity cattle must enter in the regular OYE breed shows.
8. An exhibitor can enter an infinite number of Futurity purchased animals in the OYE Futurity Showback, even if the exhibitor has already entered the maximum of two heifers or four steers in the online entry portal. However, an exhibitor is still limited to exhibiting only two heifers or four steers in the Heifer Show or Steer Show.
9. Amount of “fit” for the Futurity Showback can be determined by each exhibitor. Please refer to the OYE General Rules regarding “hair.”
10. Premium money will be mailed to exhibitors after the completion of the show.
Steers
1. Steer Futurity Showback entry cards will be included in the County/Chapter packets. An entry card will be provided for each animal.
2. There is no official weigh-in of steers. Official scales will be available for exhibitors to use in determining weight for the official Steer Futurity Showback entry card.
3. The top two steers will be weighed upon exiting the ring with a 5% weigh back allowance on the official weight determined by the weight listed on the exhibitor’s weight card. Steers not within the 5% weigh back allowance will be disqualified.
4. So long as there are three (3) or more steers of the same breed check in, divisions will be broken by breed. All other cattle will be shown as an AOB.
5. The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Futurity Steers must be available for presentation during the Futurity Sale.
6. The Grand Champion Futurity Steer will be awarded a lot in the OYE Sale of Champions which will take place on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Please refer to the OYE General Rules for Premium Sale guidelines.
Steer Premiums
All Steer Futurity Sale consignment fees collected in 2023 will be returned to Steer Futurity Showback exhibitors in the form of premium money for the 2024 Steer Futurity Showback.
Heifers
1. Heifer Futurity Showback entry cards will be included in the County/Chapter packets. An entry card will be provided for each animal.
2. Completed Heifer Futurity Showback entry cards must be returned at 9:00 am on Friday, March 15, 2024.
3. So long as there are three (3) or more heifers of the same breed checked in, divisions will be broken by breed. All other cattle will be shown as an AOB.
4. Champion and Reserve Champion heifers from each division will compete for the Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion Futurity Showback Heifer.
5. The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Futurity Heifers must be available for presentation during the Futurity Sale held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
Heifer Premiums
All Heifer Futurity Sale consignment fees collected in 2023 will be returned to Heifer Futurity Showback exhibitors in the form of premium money for the 2024 Heifer Futurity Showback.
