The Oklahoma Pork Partners Derby is designed to offer opportunities for 8th-12th grade participants who have not previously exhibited swine projects with the goal of connecting the show pig industry and the commercial pork industry in Oklahoma and providing opportunities for exhibitors to gain experiential knowledge of swine science while exploring careers in the pork industry.

During the 2023 Pork Partners Derby, held in conjunction with the Oklahoma FFA Association, the Oklahoma Pork Council, and the Oklahoma State University Swine Unit, students from all across Oklahoma were able to pick thier own pig based on a drawn draft order and take home a free bag of feed courtesy of MoorMan’s ShowTec.

On Monday, March 18, 2024, Derby participants will have the chance to exhibit their project at the Oklahoma Youth Expo in the regular swine classes and in their own Derby show.

Monday March 18, 2024, Schedule:

9:00 a.m.  – Official weigh in and ultrasound scan of all Derby entries

11:00 a.m. – Written Knowledge Test

Approximately 1:30 p.m. or immediately following Purebred Yorkshire show – Derby Show
