OYE Awards $1.55 Million To Oklahoma Ag Youth

Oklahoma 4-H and FFA members awarded $1.25 million at Sale of Champions and $300,000 in academic scholarships.

The Oklahoma Youth Expo awarded the top 214 market animal exhibitors more than $1.25 million in the 2021 Sale of Champions. Additionally, more than $300,000 in academic scholarships were awarded to seniors for their excellence both in the classroom and the showring.

“OYE is proud to reward our exhibitors for their hard work, dedication and perseverance throughout the past year” said President of the Onward Foundation, Tyler Norvell. “Here at OYE we are incredibly thankful to have such supportive sponsors who choose to invest in our ag youth, despite the uncertain times we have all faced in the past 12 months.”

The 2021 Oklahoma Youth Expo brought more than 7,000 4-H and FFA exhibitors to Oklahoma City from all 77 Oklahoma counties to exhibit their cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.

“When the 2020 OYE was cut short, our team made a promise that we would be back bigger and better than ever before,” Norvell said. “This week, we made right on that promise.

“OYE has and will continue to grow and provide opportunities for our Oklahoma ag youth,” he said. “They are our future leaders and it’s critical that we support them.”
